We hope that your New Year has been off to a wonderful start!
Last year was a busy one for us at Lone Mountain. We hosted the industry's first million dollar Fullblood Wagyu cattle auction, undertook a substantial rebrand, and launched our new sausage and jerky products to great initial acclaim. 2015 will mark our 5th year selling our 100% Fullblood Wagyu Beef directly to you, our home and restaurant customers. We have learned a lot of the past five years, honing our experience to become the leading purveyor of 100% Fullblood Wagyu in the country.
Our mission, as you know, is to delight our customers by consistently producing delicious, highly marbled 100% Fullblood Wagyu Beef. In our continual striving to achieve our mission, we have put great focus on our animals' feed and care. This very important factor includes the specific blend of grasses our cattle graze in the pasture, the mix of all-vegetarian grain-based feed we supplement with, the quantity of feed our cattle are receiving, and the slow-feeding process we implement for natural, healthy weight gain. These are keys elements in cultivating exquisite marbling and for the best care of our animals.
Over the past two years, our special long-feeding process has incurred an evermore significant cost, increasing our spending on feed exponentially. In our commitment to quality and care, this is an expense we cannot slight. We are about utmost quality, and there is no cutting corners in this journey. After hours of number crunching, we have come to the conclusion that we will have to raise the cost of a few of our selections sold through our website. Beginning February 2, both our Strip Steaks and Ribeye Steaks will be $69/steak and our new Sausage products will be $14.50/pound.
Our goals for 2015 are to become an important resource to our customers for recipes, tips, and more information about Wagyu and to grow the size of our herd with quality and integrity so we can continue to offer the best 100% Fullblood Wagyu Beef in the country.
We appreciate your understanding and continued loyalty into the New Year. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
